When you start to understand yourself from the Ayurvedic perspective, it will help you; align with your “true” nature, honor and develop your innate strengths, locate your specific challenge areas- so you can redirect detrimental tendencies and maintain balance when challenges arise.

Laurie Dean has been practicing and teaching Yoga for over 25 years and am a certified Ayurveda Practitioner with well over 3000 hours of study in both sciences. A lifelong learner, Laurie is passionate about sharing the wisdom of Yoga and Ayurveda to help people live fully and live well.

We’ll show you the nuts and bolts of this low-cost way to travel and how to step into the homeowner's shoes by minding pets, tending the yard, and bringing in the mail. You pay nothing for lodging. We also offer inspiration with cultural stories and some of our mistakes that make us more savvy travelers.

Conrad and Josie have spent the last sixteen years house sitting around the world. At first, the most compelling feature was no cost for lodging, but it didn't take long to realize the larger benefit of cultural awareness that has helped us understand ourselves and our world in a valuable way.

Relocation in retirement is exciting and disorienting. This interactive course helps recently transplanted seniors explore Ann Arbor, identify local resources, build social networks, and find meaningful ways to engage in their new community. Participants will learn how daily life works here (e.g., shopping, health/wellness, transportation, entertainment) while developing new friendships, sharing wisdom and practical knowledge, discovering opportunities for involvement, and creating a personal plan for belonging and purpose.

Tracey Lind and Emily Ingalls are recent transplants to Ann Arbor. Tracey is a retired Episcopal priest, city planner and community organizer. Emily has a background in management, logistics, and operations. This course grows out of their belief that retirement is a distinct chapter of life, relocation to a new place is challenging, and belonging with purpose is built intentionally — through relationships, engagement and shared wisdom.
